Ward Memorial Hospital Board of Managers met June 21, 2012.  Dr. Havalda stopped by to visit with the Board and answer any questions.  Dr. Havalda is a General Surgeon.  In Taylor, he also had a General Practice.  He is interested in practicing here.  Specialized staffing and training are two considerations being discussed.  This would take some time to get in place.

The Board voted to pay the bills, approve the personnel changes, and the financials.  Paddy White expects to transfer approximately 200 thousand of subsidy money.  This would still leave the hospital under budget this year.  Berta Tapia was the new hire as ENV Services PRN Housekeeper.

The Board also voted to approve a change to the hospital employee portion of health insurance premiums.  Paddy advised changing from a specific dollar amount to a comparable set percentage.  In future, this will allow a slight adjustment to be made without having to request Board approval each time the insurance company increases the premium.  (Maybe I'm wrong and it will magically decrease...)
