R.E. "Rudy" Neace, age 85, of Monahans, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012, in Monahans. He was born June 2, 1927, in Piggott, Arkansas, to Dolly Kilbreath. He ran away to join the United States Navy when he was 17 years old and lied about his age in order to join. He was known for working in construction in Monahans.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Neace of Monahans; a son, Tommy Neace and wife Julie of Monahans; 5 daughters, Susan McKay and husband John of St. Cloud, Florida, Peggy Walker and Roy Coble of Lowell, Arkansas, Kathy Ellison of Monahans, Karla Cooper and husband Barry of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Robin McAnally of Monahans; a brother, Bill Neace of Monahans; 14 grandchildren, Ashley and Jorge Arroyo, Emily Neace, Kerry and Ronnie Avery, J.D. and Jamie McKay, Jody McKay, Jennifer and Jason Briggs, Katy and Kasey Rowoldt, Robert Ellison, and Kylie Cooper; 13 great-grandchildren, Mateo Arroyo, Ty, Sangster, and Sadie, and Sybil Avery, Sydney McKay, Kolby and Kase McKay, Madelynn and Duncan Briggs, Cutter, Ashton, and Cade Rowoldt; 4 nephews, Billy Neace and wife Guyma of Monahans, Mike Neace and wife Vicki Neace of San Angelo, Bob Neace and wife Lois of Wichita, Kansas, and Stephan Neace of Wichita, Kansas.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Dolly; his first wife, Barbara; and his brother, Ray Neace.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Food Pantry or Home Hospice of Odessa.
