C.P. Buddy Miller

Longview-Graveside services for C.P. "Buddy" Miller, 86, of Longview, will be 11 AM Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Alpine Cemetery on Sam Page Road, with the Rev. Wayne Spanhanks officiating under the direction of Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road.  Mr. Miller passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Beacon Hospice.

Mr. Miller was born in Fort Worth, Texas, to Hattie and Julian Miller.  He lived most of his life in West Texas and Longview.  Buddy worked for 38 years for Warren Petroleum as a compressor mechanic.  He loved his family and enjoyed his late years watching his grandchildren grow and hearing stories of their antics.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; and three children, sons, Mike (Wanda) and Joe (Judy) and daughter Julie DaVault (Vernon).  He has four grandchildren, Danda Lindner, Clint Miller, Travis Miller and Jessica DaVault; numerous great-grandchildren; his brothers, Ross and Cody Miller; and sister, Joyce Rowan.

The family wishes to express their gratitude and love to their parents' caretaker, Linda Chapman.

Family visitation will be 5:30-7 PM today, May 8, 2013, at Welch Funeral Home.

Thomas Edward Wells

Thomas Edward Wells, age 30, of Spicewood, formerly of Monahans, died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at his home.  He was born in Kermit, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alvin Lloye Wells; grandparents, James and Lola Mae Wells and Walter and Mattie Belle Hays; and his fiance, Dorrina Reese.

He is survived by his mother, Nancy Wells of Monahans; his sisters, Mandy Wells of Santa Anna, Nikki Wells of Odessa, Johni Baker and husband Josh of Monahans; his brother, Stephan Wells; four nieces, one nephew; and step-daughters, Jennifer, Kayla and Ricki Busby of Odessa.

Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Friday, May 24, at Southside Baptist Church in Monahans with Pastor Shawn Lynch officiating.

Daniel P. Cowan

Daniel P. Cowan, 70, of Monahans, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his residence in Monahans.  He was born November 22, 1942 in Kane, Pa. He was a salesman for KN&N Electric before it was Cowan Electric.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Cowan of Graham; sons, Daniel N. Cowan of High Point, N.C., James R. Cowan of Graham and Michael P. Cowan of Corpus Christi; daughter, Theresa C. Allen of Denver, Colo.; and six grandchildren.

Clyde Lester Cooley

Clyde Lester Cooley, 85, of Wickett, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Hospice House in Odessa.  He was born January 24, 1928 in Elba, Ark. He was retired from Texas Electric.

Survivors include his wife, Rena Cooley of Wickett; sons, Dennis Sellars of Snyder and Ray Sellars of Anna; daughter, Lois Hooper of Oklahoma; two sisters; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Jean Anderson Thompson

Dorothy Jean Anderson Thompson, 83, of Monahans, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.  She was born February 6, 1930 in Rochelle. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her sons, Patrick Thompson of Monahans and Thomas Leslie Thompson of Snyder; daughter, Kathleen Thompson Redmon of Monahans; sister, Elsie Mae Holland of Sacramento, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
